Complete the New Volunteer Checklist, which includes training, subject certification, and security screening
The New Volunteer Checklist typically take about 30-45 minutes. An UPchieve staff member will review and approve your account after you complete this checklist within 1–2 business days.

No prior tutoring experience is required to be volunteer on our platform because UPchieve believes anyone can be a Coach.
All new Coaches must complete Intro to UPchieve training and unlock at least one subject by passing its certification quiz before they can start helping students.
Yes, all volunteers are required to take our Intro to UPchieve training, which teaches prospective coaches about important skills like asking probing questions, giving students specific praise, and never giving answers or helping students cheat.
