We’re excited to introduce the UPchieve Service Award, designed to recognize and celebrate the dedication of our amazing coaches! 
Eligibility
All volunteers.
There is no age restriction.
There is no time limit to qualify for an award.
Award Format
Each award tier includes:
A formal PDF certificate with the UPchieve logo and the signature of the Volunteer Program Manager and Executive Director
Unique certificate title and wording based on the award tier
Certificates are emailed within 8 business days of submitting a request. Gold-tier volunteers who live in the U.S. may request a printed certificate (on high-quality cardstock), delivered by mail within 6–8 weeks
Award Tiers 
The Service Award has three tiers based on your total lifetime volunteer hours (no time limit to qualify):
Bronze Volunteer Service Award
Minimum 50 hours
Recognizes volunteers who have made a consistent and meaningful contribution to students.
Silver Volunteer Service Award
Minimum 100 hours
Honors sustained commitment to educational equity through ongoing volunteer service.
Gold Volunteer Service Award
Minimum 150 hours
Awarded to volunteers who have shown exceptional dedication and impact through extensive service.
What Counts Toward Your Hours
Tutoring sessions (active time helping students)
Certification quizzes passed (1 hour per quiz)
Coach meeting attendance (1 hour per meeting)
Approved special volunteer projects (assigned by UPchieve staff — must consult to check availability)
Elapsed availability hours do not count toward this award.
How to Track Your Progress Toward the Award
The Service Award is based on your total lifetime volunteer hours.
To monitor your progress:
Scroll to the Impact Summary section.
Add :
Hours of tutoring completed (all time)
1 hour per number of quizzes passed
Total referral hours
Note: Coach meeting attendance and approved project work is not currently shown in your Impact Summary. You’ll need to track these hours manually.
