Helped your first student? You're officially a Certified Tutor! 🎉 Your certificate from UPchieve shows you’ve been trained and have the skills to tutor.
Complete these three steps:
Finish UPchieve 101, our coach training
Pass at least one subject certification quiz
Complete your first session
That's it. There are no hour minimums and no forms to fill out.
Go to the Training page.
Find the Nationally Certified Tutor card at the top.
Click the download button.
Your certificate saves as an image called UPchieveTutorCertificate.png. We'll also email you a reminder after your first session.
It includes your full name from your UPchieve account and an effective date, which is the day of your first session.
College applications: list it under awards or honors
Resume: add it under Certifications
LinkedIn: add it under Licenses & Certifications, with UPchieve as the issuing organization
Why can't I click the download button? You haven't finished all three steps yet. Make sure you've completed UPchieve 101, passed a subject quiz, and finished a session, then refresh the Training page.
My name is wrong on the certificate. Your certificate uses the name on your UPchieve account. Email [email protected] and we'll help fix it.
Is this the same as the UPchieve Service Award? No. Your National Tutor Certification shows you're trained and ready to tutor. The UPchieve Service Award celebrates your total volunteer hours (Bronze at 50, Silver at 100, Gold at 150). You can earn both!
