My notifications aren't making any sound

Check that browser notifications are turned on

Go to your Profile to make sure the notifications feature is still on.

Check that we have permission to send you notifications

Some browsers revoke permissions over time, or you may incidentally reject or revoke these permissions when updating browsers and settings.

Allow "Sound" from your internet browser 

Browsers try not to allow sound all the time for security reasons and to avoid bombarding users with noisy ads. (For example, you can read a blog post from the Chrome team.) Sometimes this can get in the way of our notifications.

How to check that UPchieve has permission depends on your browser. Here are instructions for some common ones.

Chrome

1. Paste chrome://settings/content/sound into your address bar.

2. Turn on Allow sites to play sound.

3. Then, next to “Allow,” click Add.

4. In the pop-up window, enter app.upchieve.org.

5. Click Add.

Firefox

1. Go to app.upchieve.org.

2. On the left of a web page address, click the lock icon🔒

3. Click Show connection detailss

4. Click More Information.

5. Click the Permissions tab.

6. Under “Autoplay,” uncheck the box next to “Use Default.”

7. Click Allow Audio and Video.

Safari

1. Go to app.upchieve.org

2. In the top left, click Safari > Settings for this website.

3. Next to “Auto-Play,” choose Allow All Auto-Play.
